Internet poker has become globally acclaimed as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. Its popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years many variations on the first poker game have been created, including a few games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with blackjack than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the dealer instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little concealment or other kinds of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up before the croupier saying "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different gamblers acquire five cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you must in turn make a call wager or accede. The call bet’s amount is equal to your beginning wager, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your ante goes directly to the dealer. After the wager comes the showdown. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, with a sum in accordance with the original wager. If the casino does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The house pays chips even with your wager and controlled odds on your call wager. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- two to one for 2 pairs
- three to one for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
