No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His papa introduced him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to discover every little thing he could about poker. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the adverse comments from other people kill his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker players in the world.

Phil started competing seriously after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for him were a teaching experience and coming away with a win was not a normal thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made 2 final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he defeated many of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to hard work and an undying passion for the game of poker. He states that he is picking up skills every day and is incredibly humble about his success. He admits to making errors every single game of poker and always strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some large tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a normal basis.
