Do you ever have that itch? The itch to bet, to head to the nearest gambling house, to locate a good stakes game of Texas holdem, to sit at a Pontoon table for hours on end. I like that itch. And I love to scratch it.

I also really like to watch folks wager. No 2 poker faces seem the same. When I wager I like to consider I put on a poker face that is impenetrable. Except I know I’ve particular gestures. For 1, the only time I smoke cigarettes is when I wager on poker or Black-jack. And then I smoke. Except I chain smoke regardless of whether I am succeeding or losing, no matter if I’ve a very good hand or bad.

I once played within a weekly poker game. The casino game was often five card draw. There was a person who played with us just about every week who constantly wore a hat. When he was dealt a very good hand, unconsciously, he would start touching and betting with his hat. Needless to say, he in no way won.

The very best poker gambler I ever saw was a person who produced additional movements and signals at a poker table than anybody I had ever met. He was impeccable in the way he dressed. Always an costly suit and tie, boots shined and nails manicured. He was meticulous in this manner. And he was constantly brushing his pant leg or holding his hands or stacking his chips in tidy little piles.

I use to study him for hours on end. I would tried to see if I could spot his tell. Choosing fuzz off his vest- did this imply he was bluffing? Arranging his chips in a very short pile – did this mean he had a very good hand?

Many years later I ran into him in the bar in Chicago and we had a drink. I asked him if he have been aware of all those motions he made or if they have been unconscious. He informed me that every single thing he did at a poker table was deliberate. He said that everybody is always checking out everyone else’s poker face. They are attempting to notice the the tell.

So his method was to give them lots to assume about. His thinking was if they have been thinking about him selecting a piece of lint off his vest and what it meant they sure weren’t pondering about their cards.

His system was diversion. And it worked for him. By no means give up a system that works for you.
